Peters Equal Area Projection World Wall Map

An Equal Area map displays every country at its true relative size, correcting the land area distortion found in many other projections such as the Mercator. The Gall-Peters projection is one of the most notable. It is based on work by James Gall in the mid-19th century. German historian Arno Peters "re-invented" and heavily promoted the projection as a new social justice alternative in the late 20th century.
