This Geologic Map of the Olympic Peninsula is published at a scale of 1:125,000, and was compiled in 1978 by R. W. Tabor and W.M. Cady. Use this beautiful geologic map for teaching and learning about the geology of the Olympic Peninsula. The Olympic Peninsula is a classic example of a subduction complex. Long ago, the ocean plate was forced under the North American plate. Some of the sea floor sediments, seamounts and ocean crust were scraped off the top and shoved up against the continent during the long subduction process.
Note: The map is in two sheets (divided East / West). Each sheet measures 42.5" x 54.5." If assembled together on the wall, the resulting width after trimming the white space would be approximately 81 inches wide.
