Mokelumne Wilderness Map

Rugged terrain characterizes this wilderness area that encompasses the watershed of the Mokelumne River in the central Sierra Nevada. Vegetation zones include live oak, chaparrell, and ponderosa pine. Geologic features are glacially carved valleys, hanging valleys, and volcanic peaks that tower above 10,000 feet in elevation. The wilderness area spans multiple national forests: Eldorado, Humboldt-Toiyabe, and Stanislaus.
